Harvest Hub

Harvest Hub moves fresh produce from harvest to homes preserves abundance, and returns nutrients to the soil through a community-driven, closed-loop system between community partners and residents of the City of Greenbelt.

About

Harvest Hub directly supports food-insecure Greenbelt residents. In partnership with the City of Greenbelt, every contribution helps build a stronger, healthier neighborhood. Together, we can reduce food waste while ensuring no one goes without fresh, nutritious food.

Goals:

  • Partner with the Greenbelt Farmer’s Market, The COOP, and community gardeners to collect, distribute, and store leftover locally grown produce June-November.

  • Supplement the City’s existing food distribution efforts by offering an additional distribution of fresh produce to individuals and families.

  • Create and store freeze-dried food packets to serve community members in need.

  • Conduct workshops on food safety, storage, and canning for community residents.
